GYM RULES

BE RESPECTFUL OF THE PROPERTY
Only the coach may bring basketballs into the gym. Anybody
bringing his or her own basketball will be asked to leave it outside.
No one is allowed in the halls unless they are going to the
bathroom.
Bathrooms should look no different at the end of the night as they
did at the beginning of the night.
No one is allowed on the stage. The curtains will be closed. You
may sit on the steps only.
Children are not permitted to play on any exercise equipment (i.e.
floor mats,etc.)

CHILDREN OTHER THAN BASKETBALL PLAYERS
Small children should not be left unattended. It is the parent's
responsibility to make sure that children at the gyms watching the
games (brothers, sisters, friends, etc.) do not roam freely in the
gyms or any other part of the school. If a parent drops off their
child to play basketball, no other children are to be "dropped off".
If you bring children (non-players), YOU MUST STAY WITH THEM.

BE RESPECTFUL OF THE SCHOOL'S CUSTODIANS
The custodians have a large responsibility to the school and we
must respect that.

MAINTAIN ORDER
Coaches and referees must maintain order with the games and
your teams. Do not allow the players to run freely through the
school before, during or after a game or practice.

HALL & BATHROOM MONITORS
Each team will assign a hall & bathroom monitor to ensure that no
damage occurs in the halls or bathrooms.

FOOD & DRINK IN THE GYMS
No food or drink is permitted in the gyms. No water bottles either.
Water is available in the school halls.

KIDS ON THE COURT
During games and practices, only players are permitted on the
court. This includes between quarters and time-outs.

The rules are straightforward and pretty much common sense.
However, they are extremely important and must be strictly
adhered to in order for us to maintain good standing with the
schools and use of their facilities. This is an extremely important
issue for our organization, and we will be paying close attention to
it throughout the entire season. The consequences of failing to
abide by these rules will be definite and could range from a player
not being allowed to attend the next game or practice, or to us as
an organization losing the use of a gymnasium for the entire
season. Therefore, we need to take it seriously.
As a representative of the WBA Board of Directors, I know we can
count on everyone to work within the rules that are listed here and
to help maintain a good working relationship with the schools.
Thanks in advance for your help with this.
